Rosacea is a common, long-term inflammatory skin condition that causes redness and bumps, most often on the nose, cheeks and forehead.
What is it?
Rosacea is a chronic skin inflammation that often results in a flushed complexion or a skin rash. This condition is typically prevalent in middle-aged to elderly individuals and those with lighter skin tones. Rosacea can sometimes be misidentified as acne, an allergy, or eczema due to the similarity in symptoms.
This condition manifests as tiny, red bumps on the cheeks, nose, forehead and occasionally the eyes. Symptoms can include facial puffiness, dry, peeling skin, noticeable broken blood vessels, an enlarged nose, and a constant reddening of the skin.
Rosacea is one of the more common skin conditions we treat at Bexley Dermatology.
